Who is Muma Ruth
I am an avid hooker!
I learned to crochet as part of my rehabilitation following a life changing series of strokes in 2011 and I have never looked back!. My Grandmother taught me to knit when I was very young and I had continued with that throughout my life, but had always wanted to crochet.
Since having been taught, I have rarely picked up knitting needles again!
Crochet is my joy and my passion; it brings me peace and relaxation and it is an art form which needs to shake its image of being just for babies or the elderly.
So this is my aim - let’s bring crochet kicking and screaming if necessary into the fore and make it a fabric of choice once more
Pattern Development
I love this coat!
It is one of my designs and a take on the boxy granny square coats and jackets seen every where, but I love to add a bit of me in all my designs, or just shake things up, and I wanted a kick/fish tail in this one; so I made it.
Devising, designing and writing patterns is one of those activities which brings me the joy I was speaking of! Seeing what my ideas look like once they are stitched - and frogged!!!
All of my patterns will appear on my Ravelry page so everyone has the opportunity to enjoy them too.
